Yeimy Baez was appointed as Ecopetrol Group Gas Vice-President on March 2020.
In this position, Yeimy is responsible to lead, strengthen and execute an integrated strategy to develop natural gas, LPG, biogas and hydrogen, which being clean energy sources, are fundamental for energy transition and Ecopetrol Group’s sustainability.
She has over 20 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry, where she successfully fulfilled a broad range of technical, commercial, strategic and financial roles. She holds a degree in Petroleum Engineering from the Industrial University of Santander, an MBA degree from Externado of Colombia University and is highly-skillful in Project Management (PMP certified). Prior to her current assignment, she served for recognized players in the industry such as Equion, BP and Weatherford.
Yeimy has been recognized as one of the top 275 most influential women worldwide in 2020 by the Energy Council; this select group highlights women who have carved a journey to the management board and have a voice in the upper echelons of the industry.
She is a role model for women achieving a successful career in the energy industry, while being a full-time mom for two boys, and as well as making a difference in the energy transformation of Colombia. Because she advocates to making sustainable energy more inclusive and accessible, she was named Oil & Gas Women by the SPE (Society of Petroleum Engineers) Colombian Chapter in 2020.
