Mr. Bertran has a Master in Business Management and Administration from the Spanish High School of Business Administration and Management , Barcelona, (ESADE in Spanish) , and has a degree as Chemical Engineer from University of Catalonia (UPC), Barcelona.
Mr. Bertran joined the Naturgy Group (former Gas Natural Fenosa) Company in 1984 working in gas plants, transportation and distribution responsibilities as well as commercial activities.
Mr. Bertran was assigned Technical Director Manager of Gas Natural in Mexico in 1998-2002 in his subsidiary of Mexico, and when he returned assumed the responsibilities for Asset Management Director , Transport and Distribution networks of Naturgy Group in Spain.
In 2005 Mr. Bertran was appointed General Manager of Gas Natural Europe in Paris until 2011. Then he assumed the position as Manager Planning and Services in Retail Energy Market of Naturgy for Spain, Portugal and Italy.
In October 2014 Mr. Bertran was elected Deputy Secretary General of IGU until November 2016. Then, by the Council approval in November 2016, he was appointed Secretary General of the IGU staying on the job until July 2021.
Since August 2021 Mr. Bertran is the President & CEO of LOUBERA, his consultant company on energy transition and renewable gases.
