Professor Jerzy Stopa, Ph.D., D.Sc., Eng. is full professor of petroleum engineering at the AGH University of Science and Technology (AGH) in Cracow, Poland. He also works as reservoir engineer for Polish Oil and Gas Company. His research interests include mathematical and computer modeling in petroleum and gas engineering with an emphasis on reservoir simulation and optimization, underground gas storage and carbon sequestration. Prof. Stopa earned a M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics (1981), Ph.D. (1985) and D.Sc. (Habil.) (1997) in Petroleum Engineering, all from AGH. Prof. Stopa is an author of over 310 scientific papers including presentations at World Petroleum Congresses and World Gas Conferences. Since 2009 he is a member of Working Committee II of International Gas Union.
