Michael Benedict Edem works in the Central Electronic Licensing, Approval and Permitting unit of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (First Class Honours) from the University of Port Harcourt and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, Nigerian Gas Association and Nigerian Association for Energy Economics. He worked briefly for Ernst & Young Nigeria as a Tax Associate before joining NUPRC. He is very passionate about the Nigerian government’s drive to monetize natural gas resources for economic development and energy security in the country.
