Andrés Pontón is an Industrial Engineer, and he holds a Master’s degree from the “Universidad de los Andes”. He has 18 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry. He started his career at the British Petroleum Company (BP), where he occupied several leadership positions in different teams such as Finance, Operations, Presidency, Joint Ventures, Logistics and Commercial. After more than 10 years of working there, he was appointed as CEO of VIDAGAS, the second largest company in the country on LPG distribution and commercialization.
Currently, he acts as Gas and LPG Manager in Ecopetrol. He strongly believes that energy transition challenge requires all kind of integrated efforts from different players worldwide. That is why from his role in Ecopetrol, he contributes to develop Natural Gas and LPG markets in Colombia in line with Ecopetrol´s corporate strategy.
